Fashionable Earth Day

On Friday, April 22, Project Greenway celebrated Earth Day in recycled fashion. Aspiring artists and designers displayed their accessories and walked the runway, with the majority of the pieces being made out of natural or recycled materials.

The three judges, Patti Bridge, a fashion teacher at Oswego High School, Angela Sharbert, a fashion teacher at Oswego East High School, and Nicole Weiler, a college representative for FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, critiqued all entries, along with community members voting for People’s Choice Accessory.

  • People’s Choice: “Coffee Bag” by Anita Scheidecker

  • Most Wearable: “Feathered Pencil Skirt” by Renee Niederkorn
  • Most Avante Garde: “Dots n Stripes” by Pam Capra
  • Most Innovative Use of Recycled Materials: “Garden Delight” by Lydia Oker

All winners received a recycled ribbon, and winning designs are on display at the Oswego Public Library’s downtown campus.
